ITS creates and manages Microsoft accounts for all students, faculty, and staff. There are some important guidelines and restrictions about 'Iolani-managed Microsoft accounts we want to share to help you make the most effective use of Microsoft's apps and services.
Microsoft 365 (Office) license eligibility
Although all students, faculty, and staff have a Microsoft account, only certain users are eligible to use Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) on their own devices through 'Iolani's site license. The following users are eligible to use Microsoft 365:
- Upper School students (grades 7-12)
- Upper School faculty and staff
- Lower School faculty and staff
In addition, all computers on campus have Microsoft Office installed, so there is no need to sign in to use Microsoft Office on school-issued computers.
Eligible users can use their @iolani.org account to activate Microsoft Office apps subject to the following limits:
- Up to 5 PCs or Macs
- Up to 5 tablets
- Up to 5 phones
If you have already signed into the maximum number of devices allowed for your account, follow the steps for "Microsoft 365 for business" on Microsoft's support site to deactivate any devices you no longer use.
